No one as Irish as Barack OBama
An offering by Donald Johnston Esq. of Sherman, TX
Thanks Again.
,
Sing along here are the lyrics:
O'Leary, O'Reilly
O'Hare and O'Hara
There's no one as Irish as Barack O'Bama
You don't believe me, I hear you say
But Barack's as Irish, as was JFK
His granddaddy's daddy came from Moneygall
A small Irish village, well known to you all
Toor a loo, toor a loo, toor a loo, toor a lama
There's no one as Irish As Barack O'Bama
He's as Irish as bacon and cabbage and stew
He's Hawaiian he's Kenyan American too
He’s in the white house, He took his chance
Now let’s see Barack do Riverdance
Toor a loo, toor a loo, toor a loo, toor a lama
There's no one as Irish As Barack O'Bama
From Kerry and cork to old Donegal
Let’s hear it for Barack from old moneygall
From the lakes if Killarney to old Connemara
There’s no one as Irish as Barack O’Bama
O'Leary, O'Reilly, O'Hare and O'Hara
There's no one as Irish as Barack O'Bama
From the old blarney stone to the great hill of Tara
There's no one as Irish as Barack O'Bama
2008 the white house is green, their cheering in Mayo and in Skibereen.
The Irish in Kenya, and in Yokahama,
Are cheering for President Barack O’Bama
O'Leary, O'Reilly, O'Hare and O'Hara
There's no one as Irish as Barack O'Bama
The Hockey Moms gone, and so is McCain
They are cheering in Texas and in Borrisokane,
In Moneygall town, the greatest of drama, for our Famous president Barack o Bama
Toor a loo, toor a loo, toor a loo, toor a lama
There's no one as Irish As Barack O'Bama
The great Stephen Neill, a great man of God,
He proved that Barack was from the Auld Sod
They came by bus and they came by car, to celebrate Barack in Ollie Hayes’s Bar
O'Leary, O'Reilly, O'Hare and O'Hara
There's no one as Irish as Barack O'Bama

Organizing for America
This week Barack Obama announced Organizing for America (OFA), the new group that will work alongside the President to support the agenda we fought so hard for.
David Plouffe recorded a video message with Mitch Stewart, the director of the new group, to explain how we can help make change a reality.
Take a minute to watch the video and get involved in Organizing for America:
Our participation in the political process is more important right now than ever.http://my.barackobama.com/neworganization

Cornyn's Desperate Attempt at Attention
Sen. John Cornyn says he will block a "unanimous consent" resolution to approve Hillary Clinton's nomination as secretary of state on Inauguration Day, David R. Sands is reporting.
The Texas Republican, who is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, says he has concerns about international fundraising for a foundation run by Mrs. Clinton's husband, former President Bill Clinton.
Cornyn's action will delay Mrs. Clinton's confirmation by 24 hours & grab headlines in Texas conservative newspapers some thing to fill there space with anything but Obama on his inaugaration day.
What a cheap political trick. Typical of his entire first term and now he continues in his second term with no doubt more to come. May the Saints preserve us.
It is time to let him know that you demand that your Senator serve the people of Texas interest and stop his posturing. Send him a quick email to John Cornyn or call or fax him here Main: 972-239-1310 Fax: 972-239-2110
Just tell him:
Dear Senator Please stop your stalling tactics and agree to confirm Hillary Clinton to President Barrack Obama's cabinet as Secretary of State immediately.
Better yet send a WannaBeBlue postcard (see sidebar just copy, paste, print, cut out, place stamp & mail.)

Seen Big Foot lately? Then you've probably seen an undocumented worker using a fake ID to vote
Thanks to Donald Johnston a great Democrat and Sherman Attorney for forwarding this John Kelso's colummn.

You've seen them lined up around the block, the hordes of Mexican illegals waiting to get into the polls so they can vote twice.
They've sneaked across the border — not for roofing jobs, or to send money back home to their relatives. No, they've come here for EZ voting — that is, to vote for everybody whose name ends in EZ: Hernandez, Rodriguez, Martinez.
Texas Republicans know of this voter fraud problem. It's right up there in frequency with leprechaun sightings.
Then there's the old folks on fixed incomes. You know how those people are. They vote for Democrats, too. So the Republicans in the Texas Senate have passed a resolution that would allow a bill to be brought up that would require a photo ID to vote in Texas.
Hey, it's a jobs program. The Republican senators know that if they can keep enough Democrats from voting, they can keep their jobs.
On Wednesday, just two days into the 81st Legislative session (it's amazing how something so useless can last this long), the Texas Senate got off to a roaring start when it voted 18-13 to change Senate rules to allow a vote on a bill that would require Texas voters to show a photo ID when they go to the polls. The vote broke down largely along party lines — all the people voting for the rule change are GOPers. Normally, it would take two thirds of the Senate — or 21 Senators — to bring up a bill for debate. But the Republicans felt so strongly about the EZ voting dilemma that they changed the rules to allow the issue to be brought up with just a simple majority of the Senate calling for it.
Geez. Wouldn't it be nice if the Motha of All Parliaments felt that strongly about your vanishing 401(k), or your kid's education?
If we're going to make poor people get their pictures taken for voter ID cards, I'm proposing the creation of the Texas Department of Homeland Photography.
This would be run out of the offices of the 18 Texas Republican state senators who voted on bringing up the photo ID bill. So if you're out and about in the next few weeks, you ought to drop into one of these offices at the Capitol and tell them they need to take your picture and make you a voting badge. Bring your birth certificate. Heck, bring your dog.
I'm sure someone in each of these offices has a digital camera, and they've all got printers. And they can send out for plastic badge holders with official Texas Legislature lanyards you can hang around your neck.
The Senators who voted for this bill are: Tommy Williams, Kip Averitt, Bob Deuell, Robert Duncan, Kevin Eltife, Craig Estes, Troy Fraser, Chris Harris, Glenn Hegar, Mike Jackson, Joan Huffman, Jane Nelson, Robert Nichols, Steve Ogden, Dan Patrick, Kel Seliger, Florence Shapiro, and Jeff Wentworth.
So make a party of it. Stop at a bus stop and pick up a bunch of poor folks. And head on over there, and get your pictures made.

Top 25 wish list for 2009 from David Van Os
Just over a week from now our nation and the world will exult in the end of eight nightmare years of government by hustlers, liars, thieves, and traitors to our Constitution.
A message from John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address of January 20, 1961 calls just as clearly to us today:
"Now the trumpet summons us again - not as a call to bear arms, though arms we need - not as a call to battle, though embattled we are - but a call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle, year in and year out, rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, a struggle against the common enemies of man: tyranny, poverty, disease, and war itself."
Now here is my top 25 "wish list" for 2009. What's on your wish list?
1. Usury laws are restored, making it illegal to charge over 10% interest.
2. The old antitrust laws are replaced by strong new laws to break up the robber baron corporate monopolies and oligopolies, especially in agriculture, banking, financial services, insurance, oil and energy, media, health care, and pharmaceutical drugs. Laws that deregulated utilities are repealed.
3. The Employee Free Choice Act is enacted into law to restore workers rights to organize unions and to bargain collectively, and restart the economy from the bottom up.
4. The new bankruptcy law passed in 2002, which turned the courts into bill collectors for the banks and finance companies, is repealed.
5. All businesses receiving government bailout money are required to immediately reduce their executive compensation rates including all stock options and benefits to no more than 5 times the average wage and benefit packages of their hourly-wage workers.
6. A single-payer national health insurance plan is enacted into law, as President Harry Truman proposed over 60 years ago.
7. Legislation is enacted requiring that all public elections be conducted by paper ballot (optical scan permitted).
8. In order to fight back against the system of politicians and their benefactors buying elections, all television stations are required as a condition of their licenses to devote specified minimum and maximum amounts of free time for electioneering to political candidates and parties during primary and general election campaign seasons. Television stations would be prohibited from selling any time for electioneering, so that the free time would be the only television time for all candidates equally.
9. To return the federal courts to their historic duty of protecting the Constitution for the people, President Barack Obama fills federal judgeships with proven civil rights lawyers.
10. President Barack Obama closes the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, abolishes the "military commission tribunals", and puts the real criminals on trial in regular criminal prosecutions; revokes all Bushite executive orders and authorizations permitting torture and other deprivations of Due Process of Law; and in all other respects restores the world leadership of the United States of America in promoting Due Process of Law and Human Rights.
11. President Barack Obama forbids all wiretapping of American residents and American citizens by all United States government agencies, departments, officers, agents, employees, and contractors unless pursuant to a warrant issued by a judge based on probable cause.
12. All United States military personnel and security contractors are withdrawn from Iraq as soon as possible, to begin immediately.
13. George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Condoleeza Rice are prosecuted for the murder of American soldiers killed in Iraq.
14. George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Alberto Gonzales are prosecuted for willful felony crimes in authorizing illegal warrantless surveillance of wire and electronic communications. In addition Alberto Gonzales is prosecuted for committing perjury in his testimony to Congress.
15. Alberto Gonzales and any co-conspirators are prosecuted for willful felony violations of the civil rights of former Alabama Governor Donald Siegelman and other individuals through the pursuit of trumped-up prosecutions and other illegitimate actions to use the Department of Justice for partisan political purposes.
16. All persons responsible for fraudulent vote counts and/or voter disenfranchisement in Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004 are prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
17. Antonin Scalia is impeached from the United States Supreme Court for issuing the fraudulent temporary restraining order that stopped the statewide Florida ballot count in 2000.
18. Karl Rove is prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law for any and all crimes he has committed in his sinister drive to wipe out the checks and balances of our Constitutional democracy.
19. Effective legislation is enacted to counteract global warming climate change.
20. The First Ten Amendments, the Bill of Rights, of the United States Constitution and Article 1, the Bill of Rights, of the Texas Constitution are made into a mandatory semester-long course of study in the Texas public school curriculum.
21. The Texas Constitutional provisions prohibiting the use of public money for private gain are fully enforced.
22. The Texas Constitutional provisions guaranteeing the separation of church and state are fully enforced.
23. The 2003 amendment of Article 1, Section 13 of the Texas Constitution (Open Courts Clause) to restrict non-pecuniary damages in civil lawsuits and thus diminish Texans' right of jury trial is repealed.
24. All legislation authorizing the Trans-Texas Corridor by whatever name is repealed; and a law is passed requiring that no toll road or part of a toll road can be established in any county commissioners precinct in Texas unless the voters residing in such precinct approve in a precinct-wide referendum. .
25. A law is passed prohibiting government at all levels from taking private property through forcible eminent domain for reasons of economic promotion or development, aesthetics, comfort, sports, or private gain (except for indirect private gain that is an unavoidable consequence of the exercise of eminent domain for genuine public necessity, such as construction contractors

Pay Equity Bill Ralph Hall Says NO!!!

No one thinks Ralph Hall is a Democratic Congressman anymore after his amazing transformation to an ultra conservative Republican in 2004, well all most everyone. On Sunday January 11, 2009 four years after he switched parties to get elected the Herald Democrat still listed him as a Democrat in an article by Steven Tereault, Stephens Media, Washington Bureau reporting that Hall voted against the Pay Equity Bill passed by Congress aimed at combating wage discrimination against women.
Showing his true colors once again, Hall an ultimate status quo congressman would change nothing that interferes with his mission to vote against the majority of his constituents in favor of his wealthy corporate supporters. He has been and remains a big business apologist. A true big business bagman, Hall is definitely not a Democratic Congressman. To label him as such is an insult to all Democrats who value equal rights of the individual, in this case the women of America, over the greedy, and chauvinistic business interest that Hall champions. The people of the 4th Congressional District missed a chance to vote in a true Democrat and vote out a political dinosaur that does not represent them.
