  1. Before we moved to N. Texas, I often listened to a Dallas radio station talk show that I could get in the middle of the night. A rabid anti-abortion female was on one night and I called in and asked her about taking care of the children once they were born. Who would see that they were at least adquately fed, clothed, sheltered and educated.

    "We can only deal with one problem at a time," she replied. "And the problem is abortion."

    I took that to mean that neither she nor many other pro-life people can chew gum and walk at the same time.

    To be fair, there are now several conservative pro-life preachers who are now saying that a fetus would be better off to remain a fetus forever than to be born into the situation we now have, where greed is no longer a mortal sin but a positive virtue and the mantra of those on the radical right is, "I've got mine. Now, let's see you try to get yours."
