If you missed this, I wanted to share with you an article from the Dallas Morning News about Specialist Alex Horton of Frisco, Texas. read the article here.http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/102207dnmetarmyofdude.36aa198.html
Alex has began a blog chronicling a soldiers transformation in Iraq. www.armyofdude.com. You know what is really going on in Iraq as seen first hand. As any veteran of any war will tell you, nothing you have been told about war or train for can ever full prepare you for what a soldier will face in combat. Experiencing it is the only possible way to know. Telling others about ones experience in war is painful for many soldiers simply because you kind of relive the event when you do. Most vets just don't want to talk about it much less create a blog about the horrific reality of combat. I think Alex has come up with a perfect way to purge his mind of those horrors and at the same time enlighten the reader of his blog to the truth. Many returning soldiers from war do not learn that opening up and sharing their feelings and experiences is cathartic until later in life if ever and after much heartache and many nightmares.
Read his blog and take the time to comment on articles. You will become more enlightened and help a veteran to deal with coming home from combat. Please encourage others to read and support Alex's effort and let us all do more to end the illegal war in Iraq.
Declare Victory and send the troops home. DO IT NOW!!!
